No Casino Gettysburg
Last fall, Mindfile was contacted by Jeff Griffith Creative to produce a series of persuasive videos for No Casino Gettysburg, a non-profit organization aiming to prevent the proposed building of a casino less than a half-mile from the historic site of the Battle of Gettysburg. Mindfile provided all field production equipment and services on location at Gettysburg National Military Park, with James acting as D.P./cameraman. He shot interviews of many noteworthy figures dedicated to the cause, from documentary filmmaker Ken Burns to actor Matthew Broderick to President Eisenhower’s granddaughter Susan Eisenhower. On April 14th, 2011, the Pennsylvania Gaming Board rejected the proposal to build the casino.
The Whisper: The Silent Crisis in Ovarian Cancer
“The Whisper: The Silent Crisis in Ovarian Cancer” is a half-hour documentary exploring the medical and emotional implications of this deadly form of gynecologic cancer. The film’s host Sharon Blynn is herself an ovarian cancer survivor, and she interviews a wide range of people affected by the disease, from medical professionals to cancer sufferers. Mindfile’s James Curry worked as D.P. and cameraman during studio production, field interviews, and package production for EndivisionDPI, LLC. The documentary premiered in September 2010 – ovarian cancer awareness month.
LEGO Store Opening at Rockefeller Center
On June 23, 2010, a new flagship LEGO store opened in New York City’s Rockefeller Center. Synaptic Digital, Inc., contacted Mindfile to shoot the weekend-long opening ceremony. The festivities included the construction of a giant New York City replica made entirely of LEGO pieces – Mindfile’s James Curry acted as cameraman and grip for a time-lapse sequence of the assembly of a sixteen-foot-tall red LEGO apple, and Adam Hamer acted as cameraman for the principal B-roll package and interviews with enthused children and parents alike – not to mention New York Yankees right fielder Nick Swisher, who laid the first brick in the LEGO cityscape.
Siemens
Synaptic Digital, Inc. recently booked Mindfile DP, James M. Curry, to shoot a series of communication outreach videos for one of their franchise clients, Siemens. The following videos were shot on location in Ft. Madison, IA and Atlanta, GA respectively.
The Sunday Mass
As part of its Christian mission to the homebound, the Passionist Communications’ televised ministry, The Sunday Mass, has been airing weekly since 1970. The ministry was originally on local broadcast channels throughout New York State, but after some forty years of commitment by both the viewing parishioners and the Passionist community, the mass is now broadcast on local networks throughout the United States, and now airs nationally on ABC’s Family Channel, as well as internationally on the web at www.thesundaymass.org.
In 2008, Mindfile was contracted to provide production support for the monthly tapings of the mass, as well as to revamp the production and lighting design. The relationship has prospered for nearly four years, and we are heading into our fourth year of production support for the mass.

We are pleased to announce that Mindfile has a new home! As of May 2011, Mindfile is operating from its new offices located next to the heart of Soho at 155 Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan (Spring St/6th Ave).
