LEGO Store Opening at Rockefeller Center

On June 23, 2010, a new flagship LEGO store opened in New York City’s Rockefeller Center. Synaptic Digital, Inc., contacted Mindfile to shoot the weekend-long opening ceremony. The festivities included the construction of a giant New York City replica made entirely of LEGO pieces – Mindfile’s James Curry acted as cameraman and grip for a time-lapse sequence of the assembly of a sixteen-foot-tall red LEGO apple, and Adam Hamer acted as cameraman for the principal B-roll package and interviews with enthused children and parents alike – not to mention New York Yankees right fielder Nick Swisher, who laid the first brick in the LEGO cityscape.
